My Story
P.A. Fitzgerald is a widely experienced multimedia writer. He has worked successfully in Film, Journalism, Documentary Television, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations and Producing.
- Highly experienced and expert writer across much of the Media.
- Finalist copywriter in the Film and Television Humour section of the U.S Advertising Awards.
- Wrote PR and devised campaigns for major companies and written for Commonwealth Government Departments.
- Past teacher of English in Australia, rustic France, Vietnam, Singapore.
- TV writing comprises some 14 hours’ of documentary co scripting and research credits on a significant series, as well as a buy-out offer from a high-profile U.K production company for a satirical comedy TV pilot and series I conceived and wrote. I am endeavouring to produce this series “The Blockbuster Chronicles” myself.
- Additionally I have also written three promising novels, the best of which – Ghosts of Ireland: A Shanachie’s Tale – is to be published within weeks. Four completed screenplays and the TV pilot, three of which were optioned by Name companies.
- Wrote that 160 screenplay assessments for Egmond, Eyeworks Europe and the Becker Group as well as for three other Australian Producers.
- As of the start of August 2014 I have attached a major Director to my Irish Ghost story and have attached an Oscar winning Producer and Australian Cinematographer of the Year to my TV Pilot. I attached two Oscar winning actors to my very first attempt at a screenplay and completed a four day script consultation for it with the great English writer Anthony Shaffer – “SLEUTH”, “The Wicker Man” and “Death on the Nile” and others.
- Journalistic writing has included Literary and Film reviewing and feature writing for a number of Daily broadsheets and some magazine feature writing including for a Phillip Adams publication and more recently The Tasmanian Times Online (“Beam Me Up Scotty/ie”). Was also offered some feature writing for TIME Australia by a past Editor.
