BLOWING UP PARADISE

A Project By Peter A Fitzgerald

Is a South Pacific environmental thriller (now semi historical) – about French skull-duggery in the Pacific – and it was based on a first draft novel and was my first attempt at a screenplay.

Despite its rawness it managed to attach three backers from the top 30 of the BRW Rich List, two Oscar winning actors and a co production offer from a major European company who won an Oscar two years later . It went to the marketplace in 1994 as an independent feature film but the issue of the excellent prospectus was dangerously delayed, and it only raised a little over $3.000.000, falling short of the Underwriter’s figure.

Status: I am re writing it and successfully contemporizing its thematic relevance. It has ongoing interest from Eyeworks Europe and was also a first draft novel called “The Journeyman”.

Feature Film Treatments for short films or full length features for negotiated sale.
